As others have suggested, send the system back and get a more suitable build for less money. It's genuinely a no brainer. I know you may believe you have found a solution, but holding the CPU back isn't what you paid for. It's a very poor spend and a learning curve for sure, the good news is...
If that was mine it would annoy me. I would need to sort the motherboard cable and hardline the lower cooler lines.
Looks the part though, would need to be red for me :ROFLMAO:
I have a feeling you may be misunderstanding. PCS build the system for you, you just select what goes into it via the configurator and they build to that spec. You don't need to come up with the spec on your own though, we will gladly help with that side of it.
I put together some helpful links...
@Dazu I would contact PCS directly as I think this is an issue with the configurator. I've highlighted to the Admins but they aren't on much so for a quicker resolution it may be better to ask directly.
Didn't watch all of it, had a little nosey through it though and caught some snip discussions. Pretty fair from what I could see. They're much more polite with the fanboi contingent than I would be. Imagine criticising an outlet for bringing news of an issue to you purely because you feel the...
I'm not so happy with the cooler but the rest of the build has been rounded out. With £200-£300 on a monitor you could aim for 1440p gaming, but unfortunately you would need more budget on the system for that to be ideal. I would probably opt for the 1440p monitor just now and turn down the...
The power supply should be available in your spares/upgrade options (if stocked of course). If you can't see it I would just give PCS a call and see what they can do. You certainly shouldn't need to send the laptop in, it would just be the charger getting shipped out.
Be sure to get some advice if you're not 100% in touch with all the goings on. I've put a collaboration of hints, tips & info in the below. Have a look through and either have a play with the configurator to get a spec and post it up, or just give us your requirements and we'll put something...
Welcome to the forum. What are your uses for the PC? The URL for the build is always required for assisting with builds but I don't think Intel would be recommended so can be omitted in this case.
Little bit of reading here for you to give you some insight into our processes and considerations...
As above. The use case is key to the consideration. If it's to play mine sweeper or use an office suite at 4k then all will be fine and dandy.
If it's a gaming rig then the order of upgrades will be:
PSU - 1000w would be the minimum recommendation. Good choice for 1440p, better with 1200w or...
It's definitely the future of AIOs IMO, but it's not quite there for me to jump out for it. I love it all being built in and I don't mind the bulk on the radiator but that screen looks weird to me and isn't something I would have just yet. I think the aesthetic needs a bit more work for it to...
You've not responded with your configuration to show yourself as a PCS customer. I'm not sure how many forums you join where the members are at your beck and call but finding this forum an outlier is a good thing where I'm concerned.
@spacoom, I'm going to lock the thread. If you've...
Have you checked the USB header connection(s) for the commander? I would just check that everything is connected properly. The fact that you've already found a dislodged connector makes me think there are likely more.
It's not really about what's necessary unfortunately. The last thing you want to do is replace the power supply should you wish to upgrade down the line. Nowadays I would recommend 1000w as a minimum with 1200w being more enthusiast level (higher tier cards such as the 4090). This doesn't change...
Options:
Replace the second 2TB drive with a 1TB variant - £53
Swap the 7800XT out for the 7900GRE +£31
Switch the 7800X3D out for the 7700 - £119 (additional option to save with the AK400 cooler)
My personal preference would be to actually keep the choices and add the 7900GRE. The 7900GRE is...
Propping up the overall build with better selections while keeping the same CPU/GPU combination takes you a little over budget. There are some areas that can be shaved to keep the cost down but they come at the cost of the luxuries, or you could forego the 7800X3D.
