It would help if you could read the below thread, and come back to us with some of the answers to the questions raised.

  • Monitor: make & model, or resolution & refresh rate
  • Max budget
  • What's it going to be used for (be as detailed as you can. If it's for gaming only, then say so; if it's not then tell us specific video/photo/modelling apps you'll be using and how heavily)
  • Any space constraints / aesthetic wants that we need to consider

Hello, I would like to update my post.
Asus Tuf 144hz monitor
Max budget £2,860
Computer only for gaming
In general, my room is very warm. My question is whether the cooling will be suitable for this processor.
Thank you for any help

I think most people on here would recommend staying away from Intel for gaming (or for anything but very niche usages in fact), due to their dodgy power claims and the CPUs degrading over time.

Is that a 1440p monitor? Do you have a known need for 64GB RAM, if not, then it's pointless.

Whilst I wait for that answer, I'll build an 'equivalent' spec AMD build, which will be cooler, quieter, and more performant, for probably less.

However, if you don't have a need for 64GB RAM, then we can tweak things...

Case
CORSAIR iCUE 5000X RGB MID TOWER GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Eight Core CPU (4.2GHz-5.0GHz/104MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5)
Motherboard
GIGABYTE X670 AORUS ELITE AX (AM5, DDR5, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6E) - can't use an ASUS X670E motherboard with the Corsair LCD AIOs for some reason
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB) - taken this down to 32GB
Graphics Card
16GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4080 SUPER - HDMI, DP, LHR - taken this to the standard RT4080 Super (assuming a 4K monitor)
Graphics Card Support Bracket
NONE (BRACKET INCLUDED AS STANDARD ON 4070 Ti / RX 7700 XT AND ABOVE)
1st M.2 SSD Drive
512GB SOLIDIGM P44 PRO GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7000MB/sR, 4700MB/sW) - small, very fast drive for Windows/Apps/Games Launchers ONLY (to maintain performance and mitigate a single point of failure)
1st M.2 SSD Drive
2TB SOLIDIGM P41+ GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 4125MB/sR, 3325MB/sW) - fast secondary SSD for game installs
Power Supply
CORSAIR 1200W RMx SHIFT SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS GOLD, ULTRA QUIET - beefier, next gen (ATX3/PCIe5 spec) PSU for the beefier GPUs and with protection from their transient power spikes
Power Cable
1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead, 1.0mm Core)
Processor Cooling
CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE LCD XT RGB CPU Cooler - next level up, simply because there's budget for it and will match the 3 fans on the front
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
ONBOARD 2.5Gbe LAN PORT
USB/Thunderbolt Options

The only thing I'd personally change on this, and only if the glass-fronted 5000X is not a deal-breaker...would be to get the 5000D and add 4x QX120 iCUE LINK fan kit to keep all the fans/AIO running off the same controller and running the same type fans/LEDs schema.

Alternatively, if you want glass and lots of RGB, then the Corsair 6500X is a big glass aquarium case than can have fans on the bottom and side, so they don't get in the way of the view inside...like this...

I always thought Intel was better than AMD processors. That's why I always chose an Intel processor. Yes, the monitor is 1440p. As for memory, I have no idea.

Yes Intel used to be, but now they have been surpassed by AMD, check out YouTube for videos on the 14 series of Intel chips

Over the years the pendulum swings back and forth. AMD is where it's at right now for desktop CPUs as the 14700 and 14900 CPUs are having serious issues right now as already mentioned. Here's a video from Hardware Unboxed:

Intel tried blaming the motherboard manufacturers but the problem is an Intel problem.

I wanted a 16GB ASUS PROART GEFORCE RTX 4080 SUPER graphics card - HDMI, DP, LHR, is this card also included in this set?
It can be, it's only another £50-60 IIRC, but just swapped it out to ensure I could fit all the other bits in budget first...and until I knew whether we'd agreed we needed a 4K GPU (4080 Super) or 1440p/ultrawide 1440p GPU (4070Ti Super).

ASUS® ROG STRIX Z790-F GAMING WIFI II (LGA1700, DDR5, PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7)
GIGABYTE X670 AORUS ELITE AX (AM5, DDR5, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6E)
comparing these two motherboards, which one would be better in the first set you mentioned?

of course, when it comes to the graphics card, I think that in the near future I will change the monitor to 4k
that's why I chose the 4080 graphics card
my budget for this computer is 2860 max

You can't compare them, as they're different chipsets. One is for Intel (Z790), the other is for AMD (X670).

But the Strix 670E is probably the equivalent to the Strix Z790-F...but the X670E (the E is important) will not work with the LCD AIO coolers...that's why I had to go for the Gigabyte.
