Definitely not how we would recommend you spec the build. If you feed back with the above we can nail it for you. 4k is top tier.

I'm definitely down to hear what you would recommend as I would like to reach as high performance as I can!

Here's a build that is cheaper and as good or better in performance. The only real downgrade I've made is to the RAM: it's very questionable whether 7200MHz memory will give any performance increase over 6000MHz when using an X3D chip. But if you wanted to upgrade there's no reason not to.

Thankyou! I appreciate the effort to help configure a build for me! so stick with that CPU and I kinda liked the 4090 style of the one I selected.

With your selection in mind, do you think this is an improvement?

If you want to spend hundreds of pounds on aesthetics, why not? But aesthetics is the only reason to go for the Tuf graphics card.

But I don't get why you've changed to the 5000D and then chosen extra fans, or why you've gone for the 7900X3D which is literally slower in games than the 7800X3D. Both seem like bad calls to me.

Remember to remove the Arctic MX-4 because the pre-applied Corsair XTM70 is actually better.

If you want to spend extra money, opt for the Gold Warranty. I believe it would be a wiser choice. :)

My bad, changed CPU and case which was a misclick and removed Arctic paste.
Is this looking optimal now?

You're changing things with no understanding of why IMO. This is never going to be a good idea. The selections made were made for reasons, they can be explained to you but blindly changing them without understanding why just because they're more expensive isn't the right way to do it.

The cooler is a prime example. You've went for a more expensive H150i without understanding that the one you have selected isn't ideally compatible with the additional fans.

It's really frustrating trying to help without understanding exactly how we are helping.

I want a cooler with a screen so I picked that one due to LCD being in the name and its got good reviews, I wanted a 4090 and the only other ones they offer are the zotac/palit ones that in my opinion look **** so I went with the Asus TUF one. Other than that, It's near enough identical to what was suggested to me. I made a mistake with getting the case wrong at first which was corrected as it was a misclick and I downgraded the ram and changed the SSD's to exactly what was suggested by sck.

Is the build really a big mess?

I think the below is the build you're talking about? I can see why you'd want the LCD screen: it adds a bit of extra cabling (and possibly a controller? not sure) over the Link ones. But I can see why you might want it.

As for the 4090: you're paying £150 for a bit of bling. (And do you even know what the Zotac OEM 4090 looks like?!) I don't quite get it, but I guess it's only an extra 5% on the total price. Not money I'd spend (that's a night of holiday!) but if you're willing to spend it, it'll work just fine...

Yeah correct this is the right one! I'd love for it to be the one I liked but I'm fussy with how it looks and I sadly do prefer the more expensive GPU. Are the fans compatible and would 3 fans fill all of the spaces? Also would I need to buy an exhaust fan to disperse heat more effectively for the back of the pc as I see a few builders on youtube doing just that.

The 5000X comes with four fans installed (3 front, 1 rear).
QX fans can be used, but they maybe lose the cable-less advantage paired with the H150i Elite?
I'd personally buy the H150i Link and then buy the LCD screen separately.

The air is going to leave the case, whether or not a rear fan is fitted. That said, the config tool won't let you add any more fans, so I'd guess it's already included.

Yes, the case has three front fans, three top fans (AIO), three side fans (the extra kit on the order) and one rear fan (which I think will be included). There's no room for more fans.

I see three options:
  1. Go for the 5000D and add the 6 x QX120 iCUE LINK kit and H150i iCUE LINK AIO…then fit the LCD screen later
  2. Save an order with the 5000X and H150i iCUE LINK AIO, then call PCS to swap out the front 3 fans with iCUE LINK ones
  3. Stay with the 5000X and H150i Capellix LCD AIO and swap the QX fans for the AF fans to keep them all using the same ’ecosystem’

Thankyou! Helpful advice along with sck. I think option 2 might be the less problematic one for both parties. I'll strike up a live chat tomorrow to see if I can do that and it shouldn't be too much extra.
